Committed to guaranteeing access to drinking water for the most disadvantaged populations, Rawbank came to the aid of the inhabitants of the Badara district in the N’sele commune, who have been suffering from a water shortage for several decades.

The bank, through its delegation led by its Deputy General Manager of Rawbank, Christian Kamanzi, inaugurated the water borehole on July 9; a borehole that will be within the reach of the inhabitants of this district of N’sele. To ensure the distribution of water to all families, the bank offered, as a symbolic gesture, 200 twenty-litre jerry cans to the inhabitants of Badara. This vital renewal will alleviate the many health risks incurred by this population due to the lack of clean drinking water.

Present at the inauguration, the mayor of this commune, Brigitte Mualuke Kembe, together with Christian Kamanzi, proceeded to the unveiling of the water well.

The mayor of N’sele thanked the bank for having solved the problem of drinking water access in this part of her municipality, in the presence of notables, religious sisters and other officials of the parish of Marie Mère de la Foi.

Afterwards, some inhabitants, moved to touch this salutary work with their own hands, described the struggle they had always engaged in to bring drinking water to their homes.

For the parish priest of Marie Mère de la Foi, Father Stéphane Uyungu, this well should be maintained for the good of the whole community.

The beneficiaries of this donation were thrilled with the new borehole, and from now on they will no longer have to make perilous journeys to find drinking water.
