Actively involved in the fight against the coronavirus, RAWBANK handed over to Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe, Director General of the National Institute of Biomedical Research (INRB), a large batch of medicines for people tested positive for covid19. This gesture is part of the actions that the bank has undertaken since the beginning of this pandemic in DR Congo and in response to the call for collective solidarity launched by the Head of State.
In its display of generosity, RAWBANK brought a large batch of drugs to INRB, personally received by Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe, its General Director.
A total of 122,400 tablets of azithromycin 250mg and 15,552 tablets of 500mg for people who tested positive for Covid-19. Indeed, this antibiotic is recommended for the treatment of patients, in combination with chloroquine and under medical supervision.
The bank also donated 204,800 tablets of paracetamol 500mg for the treatment of symptoms such as fever and headaches.
"This gesture comes at the right time because we are in great need of azithromycin to treat our patients. You have come to the rescue of the Congolese people, and we are truly grateful," said Dr. Muyembe upon receiving the donation.
In addition, RAWBANK representatives took the opportunity to experience and pass through the ‘Safe Gate’, a security portal that serves to filter the entry and exit of any visitor by disinfecting clothes and the entire human body. This Congolese innovation is one of the projects that RAWBANK supports and congratulates as it contributes to the fight against the coronavirus.
After that, RAWBANK visited the new building of INRB which is equipped with a biological analysis laboratory that offers better working conditions, in compliance with international safety standards. This national laboratory of public health is now equipped with adequate materials for the realization of the various analyses, and it benefits from qualified personnel for the research.
RAWBANK, as a banking institution in the DRC, actively participates in this fight against the coronavirus to accompany the Head of State in the definitive eradication of the Covid-19 pandemic in the DR Congo.
