Rawbank in agreement with Mansa Music to accompany the reconciliation concert of Wenge Musica 4×4

Rawbank is now among the organizations supporting the historic Wenge Musica BCBG 4×4 Tout Terrain concert scheduled for June 30, 2022, at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.

Through this sponsorship, Rawbank wishes to present and showcase its illicocash application, an electronic wallet that facilitates fast and secure payments.

A leading bank in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) committed to promoting Congolese culture, Rawbank signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday, May 27, 2022, with the production company Mansa Music RDC, the initiator of this event, which seals the reconciliation between the “Bana Wenge” after 25 years of dislocation.

On the one hand, Rawbank’s Deputy Managing Director, Christian Kamanzi, signed the document, which confirms this banking institution’s commitment, as an economic player, to contributing to the cultural development of the DRC, as well as supporting and promoting Congolese artists.

On the other hand, Amadou Diaby, Managing Director of the production company Mansa Music RDC, himself validated this partnership in the presence of three directors of the Wenge Musica Bon Chic Bon Genre group: Alain Makaba, Jean-Bedel Mpiana, and Ngiama Werrason.

“This is a great honor for us, and I welcome you all to Rawbank,” said Christian Kamanzi, Deputy Managing Director of Rawbank, during the signing ceremony of this memorandum of understanding at the bank’s headquarters in Kinshasa.

For his part, Amadou Diaby, Managing Director of the production company Mansa Music RDC, believes that “Rawbank has just shown the world that Congolese culture cannot be abandoned.”

He added: “I would like to thank the Managing Director of Rawbank, Mr. Mustafa Rawji, who promised that he was truly committed to the reconciliation of the Congolese people. I can only thank you for this hospitality and the importance you place on Congolese artists, especially Wenge Musica BCBG 4×4 Tout Terrain.”

Supporting the Wenge Musica BCBG 4×4 concert is not an isolated act for Rawbank.

“Sharing wealth and supporting our country’s communities are part of the Bank’s DNA,” states a press release from this banking institution.

This partnership, the press release notes, is part of Rawbank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. “Promoting our artists is part of this strategy, which aims to be coherent, relevant, and supportive of these actors who define the DRC’s identity,” the press release states.

According to Rawbank’s CSR Manager, Isaac Kalala Mukendi, “participating in this major music festival is an opportunity to affirm the Bank’s commitment to the promotion and production of musical culture in Congo, especially since Wenge Musica 4×4 is part of Congolese cultural heritage through its contribution.” “This partnership is an additional mark of commitment and attachment that we want to express,” he emphasizes.

Through this action, Rawbank intends to demonstrate its commitment alongside those working to promote Congolese culture around the world.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), it should be noted, remains to this day one of the most prominent representatives of the contemporary African music scene.

With more than 1,800 employees, 100 points of sale, a representative office in Brussels, 240 ATMs, over 500,000 customers, and over 30% market share, Rawbank has been supporting the development of the Congolese economy since 2002.
