Nine children from the Congo Espoir orphanage returned to school with their bags containing school supplies. This donation was the work of Rawbank, which, through its corporate communications manager, Rita Masengo, brought its “Back to School with Rawbank” campaign to life in the presence of the young people’s supervisors, who expressed their gratitude to the bank for this hopeful gesture.
At the end of the site visit, these children set off on their way to school, the Bon Esprit middle school, where, in a jovial mood, they immersed themselves in a crowd of students before heading to their respective classrooms. This was the case for 12-year-old Divine, who acknowledged the concern shown them.
In light of the challenges hindering the return to school, particularly the lack of financial resources, the Director of this school, established in 2018, praised Rawbank’s comprehensive contribution in providing access to these children.
Aware of the real needs of this non-governmental organization, created in 2016 by Nancy Kibibi, Rawbank personally handed over a substantial amount of funding to the supervisors to renovate the orphanage where they live. It also supplied the orphanage with school kits to prepare for the upcoming school year.
