Rawbank at Mining Indaba 2026: Advancing a strategic vision for the future of the Congolese mining sector

Indaba Rawbank -1

Rawbank took part in the 32nd edition of Mining Indaba, held from 9 to 12 February 2026 in Cape Town, a leading international platform dedicated to the extractive industry. This participation reflects the Bank’s continued commitment to supporting the development and financing of the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In line with the theme of this year’s edition, “Stronger Together: Progress through Partnerships,” Rawbank reaffirmed its role as a financial institution actively involved in structuring and financing the mining ecosystem, as well as in facilitating connections between domestic stakeholders and international partners and markets.

Structured support across the mining value chain

The mining sector accounts for more than 30% of Rawbank’s loan portfolio. The Bank operates across multiple segments of the value chain, supporting mining companies, industrial partners, as well as associated SMEs and subcontractors.

In 2025, more than 5,000 SME files related to this ecosystem were processed, while the digitalization of approximately 75% of transaction flows contributed to enhanced operational efficiency and improved service delivery to clients within the sector.

Contributing to dialogue between public authorities and investors

During Mining Indaba, Rawbank participated in strategic discussions bringing together public authorities, industry operators and international investors, notably as part of the DRC Breakfast. These exchanges focused on the outlook for the Congolese mining sector, the strategic importance of critical minerals, and the conditions required to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.

On this occasion, Fawzi Abi Saleh, Southern Region Director, highlighted the growth dynamics of the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the associated financing needs.

In parallel with the official program, Rawbank also hosted a dedicated meeting with its partners and clients to foster dialogue and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the sector.

Through its participation in Mining Indaba 2026, Rawbank reiterates its commitment to supporting the financing of the mining industry by leveraging its banking expertise, in-depth knowledge of the local economic environment, and international operational standards, in support of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s economic development.
