Kinshasa, March 27, 2025 – Clarification from Rawbank regarding the banking fees applied in the context of the Congolese biometric driver’s license
As part of the launch of the new secure biometric driver’s license, initiated by the Ministry of Transport of the Democratic Republic of Congo and implemented by the service provider Otojust, Rawbank was mandated to ensure the technical and secure management of financial flows related to this operation.
In accordance with the terms of this mission, Rawbank applies a fixed banking fee of 5.5 USD per transaction. This amount exclusively covers the logistical and technical services mobilized by the bank: payment processing, dedicated on-site staff, device security, and financial operations management.
It is important to clarify that this fee is neither a public tax nor a charge paid to any administrative entity. It is a standard, regulated remuneration collected in exchange for banking services provided within an institutional framework.
As a trusted banking partner of public authorities, Rawbank reaffirms its commitment to the principles of transparency, regulatory compliance, and responsibility, and remains fully available to provide any additional information to the competent authorities as well as to the general public.
