Firmly committed to ensuring access to drinking water for the most disadvantaged populations, Rawbank has come to the aid of the residents of the Badara neighborhood in the commune of N’sele, who have been suffering from water shortages for several decades.

The bank, through its delegation led by its Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Christian Kamanzi, inaugurated the water well on July 9th; the well will be accessible to the residents of this neighborhood in N’sele. To ensure water distribution to all families, the bank symbolically donated 200 20-liter jerrycans to the local residents of Badara. This vital second wind will alleviate the multiple health risks faced by this population due to the lack of drinking water.

Present at the inauguration, the mayor of this commune, Ms. Brigitte MUALUKE KEMBE, along with Mr. Christian KAMANZI, Deputy General Manager of Rawbank, unveiled the water well.

The mayor of N’Sele thanked the bank for solving the drinking water problem in this part of her commune, in the presence of local dignitaries, religious sisters, and other officials from the parish of Marie Mère de la Foie.

Afterward, some residents, moved to touch this beneficial structure, described the traditional struggle they had been engaged in to bring drinking water to their homes.

For the parish priest of Marie Mère de la Foie, Father Stéphane Uyungu, this registered trademark should be well maintained for the benefit of the entire community.

An atmosphere of excitement, a state of mind felt by the beneficiaries of this project, who will no longer have to travel perilous distances to find drinking water.
