The Belgian Economic and Trade Mission to the DRC

From March 19 to 25

The Democratic Republic of Congo hosted the Belgian Economic Mission delegation in Kinshasa. More than 120 entrepreneurs were invited to discover the country’s investment opportunities and engage with the local ecosystem of political and business decision-makers.

Throughout the week, Rawbank worked to contribute to the goal of the 90 Belgian companies visiting Kinshasa, enabling them to fully understand the specific business potential offered by the DRC.

This visit was initiated by the Belgian Embassy and the Economic and Commercial Advisor of the Brussels, Flemish, and Walloon regions. During his first official visit to Brussels, the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, supported this project, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the DRC and Belgium. Rudi Vervoort, Minister-President in charge of Territorial Development, Urban Renewal, Tourism, and the Promotion of Brussels’ Image, led the delegation, which was welcomed by the Governor of Kinshasa, Gentiny Ngobila.

Monday, March 21

Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde officially launched the proceedings. As sponsor of theBelgian Economic and Trade Week in the DRC, Rawbank actively participated in the discussions.

Sales Director Etienne Mabunda spoke on Monday at a high-level panel focused on the issue of project financing in the DRC. During his presentation, he outlined the country’s strategic strengths to an audience of investors and presented Rawbank’s actions to contribute to improving the national investment framework.

Furthermore, Rawbank hosted Belgian entrepreneurs at its Atrium headquarters on Wednesday, March 23, for a B2B exchange with its customers to foster commercial synergies.

Promising discussions took place between economic players from various sectors such as energy and transportation. The guests of the Belgian economic and trade mission and the Bank’s clients each expressed their thanks to the banking institution for facilitating the initiation of promising discussions.

This mediation remains one of the pillars adopted by Rawbank, which aims to innovate and adopt a forward-thinking approach to projects for purposes that are useful and beneficial to the DRC.
