Afrobasket-Rawbank

Afrobasket Kigali 2021 kicks off on Tuesday, August 24th and ends on Sunday, September 5th. The DRC Leopards Basketball Team, already in Rwanda, is benefiting from both material and financial support from Rawbank, a privileged partner. As a bank that supports Congo and the Congolese people, Rawbank remains committed to the world of sport to promote new talent in several disciplines.

For the Rwandan event, all necessary arrangements have already been made to allow the DRC Leopards Basketball Team to best prepare. The bank is therefore keen to offer greater visibility to Congolese athletes through its channels. The particular objective is to maximize the Leopards’ chances of advancing as far as possible in this competition.

Regarding the Rawbank – DRC Leopards Basketball Team partnership, FEBACO (Congolese Basketball Federation) has officially contacted the bank. This partnership has been built over time. Rawbank has provided the Leopards with material and financial resources to build a solid, long-term project and promote the values of this sport.

By initiating this initiative, Rawbank simply wants to convey a positive image of the DR Congo, particularly in the sports field, and more specifically in basketball. Rawbank’s goal is to help the Leopards gain greater awareness through our channels and advertising materials.

Always working alongside the Congolese people, Rawbank supports initiatives aimed at promoting new talent in the DRC’s sports field. By focusing on basketball today, the bank is supporting not only the Leopards, but also the New Generation team, which competes in the local championship. Rawbank also supported the Salamatou 3×3 Basketball Tournament held last July.

Norwegian Leopards head coach Mathias Eckhoff has already released the list of 12 Leopards selected. They are Joël Ntambwe, Rolly Fula, Arsène Mbav, Maxi Shamba, Garmine Kande, Rodrigue Munsi, Erick Kibi, Chadrack Lufile, Jordan Djonourou, Haboubacar Sakho, Patrick Mwamba, and Henri Pwono.
