Rawbank, partner of the 6th edition of MAKUTANO

The 6th edition of Makutano, the first major business network on the African continent, and also the first pan-African business forum, aims to create African champions in all promising sectors. Several influential figures from strategic sectors (mining, finance, economics, and politics) came together to discuss the importance of resilience, of prioritizing dynamism over inaction, and of adopting a spirit of active voluntarism. These actions are necessary for Africa’s economic development during this pandemic.

Rawbank proudly endorsed the role of sponsor of Makutano and is paying special attention to this edition, which focuses on the role of entrepreneurs in times of COVID-19. Nicole Sulu, founder of this network, declares “The time has come to consider Africa not as timeless but over time. We must give Africa the opportunity to take its place in the community of nations. We must give African women and our young people what they need to transform things.”

For the entrepreneurs attending this panel, it is also an opportunity to present innovative projects with the aim of attracting donors and investors. Financial inclusion is a key element of the post-COVID recovery. John Nsana Kanyoni, VP of the DRC Chamber of Mines, explains that this event allows innovative projects, particularly infrastructure projects, to be presented to a strategic audience. For Rawbank, the Grand Makutano is an opportunity to find champion entrepreneurs in all sectors working for the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Rawbank actively participates in supporting SME managers. In recent months, the resilience of entrepreneurs has emerged as a vital element in the emergence of a great and strong Congo.
