Why update rawbank’s identity now, after 23 years?
Rawbank was born in 2002, in a country rebuilding from the ground up. Twenty-three years later, Congo has changed. It is youthful, connected, ambitious. And the world around us is evolving rapidly—customer expectations, economic dynamics, environmental challenges, digital practices—everything is shifting.
In this context, we wanted to pause and rethink our role in Congolese society and in today’s Africa. This rebranding comes from a deep conviction: to remain useful, close, and high-performing, we must evolve with the times. This new identity reflects a strong strategic direction and a renewed commitment. It marks a key stage in our history: one of maturity, ambition, and openness to the future.
How does this rebranding go beyond a simple logo change?
It’s not just a new design. This new identity tells a story—the story of a bank that moves with the times while staying true to its values.
The new logo is a strong symbol. Inspired by the Congolese leopard—an emblem of power and resilience—the stylized yellow claws reflect our strength, our ability to innovate, and our agility in facing challenges. Yellow stands for vitality, optimism, and prosperity—a color focused on the future. The black typography represents our solidity, reliability, and role as a trusted institution in a changing world.
But beyond the symbolism, this visual shift reflects a deeper movement. We are accelerating our digitalization to make banking services accessible to all. We are more committed than ever to a green and inclusive economy. And we continue to support the people driving change—women, youth, entrepreneurs, SMEs. This new look reflects a more modern, connected Rawbank, but one that remains close to its people.
What message are you trying to convey with this new chapter?
We want to tell the Congolese people: Rawbank is changing because Congo is changing. But our mission remains the same. From day one, we’ve been here to support, serve, and empower. This new chapter is our way of reaffirming that commitment—to development, to our clients’ projects, and to people.
Through this rebranding, we are sending a message of unity, trust, and action. Rawbank doesn’t belong to a select few. It belongs to the merchants of Kinshasa, the women of Goma, the families of Bukavu. It reflects a country that is moving forward, inventing, and building.
Our promise remains unchanged: to go further, always beyond a bank. We are proud to write this new chapter with and for the Congolese people.
