RAWBANK celebrated, on December 03, 2019, the International Day of Disabled Persons at the Professional Center for the Disabled, in Kinshasa. As the 1st banking institution in the DRC, the bank has paid special attention to these people who are often marginalized and sidelined in society. This support is part of its annual social activities throughout the DRC.

Since 1992, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been celebrated every December 3 around the world. This day aims to promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in all spheres of society and to raise awareness about their situation. For this year, RAWBANK has chosen to provide financial and material support to people living with disabilities and residing at the Professional Center for the Disabled in Kinshasa.

Rawbank gave to the beneficiaries an important batch of gifts composed of sewing machines, sanitary products and fresh food to put a smile on their faces. Indeed, this center periodically gathers more than 30 people living with disabilities and who benefit from training and supervision in various fields such as cutting & sewing, shoemaking and many other trades.

"Guaranteeing the rights of persons with disabilities is true to the promise at the heart of the 2030 Agenda: to leave no one behind," said United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, encouraging countries, businesses and initiatives to actively contribute to making the lives of persons with disabilities better.

It is in this context that the President of the DRC, H.E. Félix Tshisekedi, opened the way to a national and more inclusive involvement by addressing a message to the Nation on the occasion of the said day and by encouraging the parliament to adopt the organic law on participation, promotion and protection of people living with disabilities. RAWBANK, a community bank, by responding to the call and to this surge of solidarity, has once again affirmed its leadership and its commitment alongside the Congolese government.
