To mark World Environment Day, Rawbank has joined Congo Salubrit\u00e9's initiative to bring Kinshasa's damaged ecosystems back to life and promote environmental sustainability.
On June 5, in collaboration with agents from the Congo Salubrit\u00e9 network in the cities of Kinshasa, Bukavu, Kolwezi, Boma and Bumba, Rawbank teams mobilized to clean up and collect plastic waste along the capital's main thoroughfares.<\/p>
This action took place in line with the central theme of World Environment Day 2023: \u201cCombat Plastic Pollution\u201d. Rawbank teams and Congo Salubrit\u00e9 agents took action by actively cleaning up several urban areas affected by the presence of plastic waste. The event also saw the launch of an initiative to revitalize the Gombe river.<\/p>
Since joining the United Nations Global Compact in 2017, Rawbank has been striving to make firm commitments to sustainable development. In particular, the bank places environmental remediation at the heart of its actions to combat climate change.
